Schedule of SPH Commencement Events

Commencement Kick-off Event:

  • Date: Wednesday, June 5, 2024
  • Time: 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
  • Location: Located in the outdoor terrace of Nichol Hall at 24951 Circle Drive, Nichol Hall, Loma Linda, California 92350

Doctoral Hooding: 

  • Date: Thursday, June 6, 2024
  • Time: 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
  • Location: Randalls Amphitheater, 11080 Anderson Street, Loma Linda, CA 92354, (located next to the Del E. Webb Memorial Library)
  • Please note: Graduates must arrive at 5:30 p.m. for lineup.

Pre-commencement Brunch:

  • Date: Friday, June 7, 2024 
  • Time: 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.
  • Location: 24951 Circle Drive, Nichol Hall, Room #1610 Loma Linda, California 92350
  • Please note: For those that are unable to attend the Pre-Commencement, they should be at the Drayson Center by 12:00 p.m.

Conferring of Degrees: 

  • Date: Friday, June 7, 2024
  • Time: 1:00 pm 
  • Location: Drayson Center, 25040 Stewart St, Loma Linda, CA 92350
  • Please note: Graduates report to Drayson Center no later than 12:00 p.m.

Nutrition & Dietetics Pinning Ceremony

Celebration of Commencement Graduates Vespers

Directions and Parking

There is parking located close to the Drayson Center for the SPH commencement ceremonies. A handicapped parking lot is available at the Drayson Center for commencement, and your handicapped placard must be displayed. Drop-off and shuttle service to other local lots is available at the Drayson Center. Please see map below.

There will be other commencement ceremonies following the SPHs. During commencement, you may experience traffic delays and limited parking around town, especially around the Drayson Center.

University Commencement Program Photo

Graduating students can upload their passport-style photo for inclusion in the University Commencement Program or have it taken on campus at Nichol Hall. Photo sessions will occur every Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m. at 24951 North Circle Drive, Nichol Hall Room #1506, Loma Linda, California 92350. The last day for on-campus photo sessions will be Thursday, February 29, 2024. For any inquiries regarding your photos, please get in touch with Summer Clark at snclark@llu.edu.

Restaurants and Hotel Reservations

We recommend making reservations in advance for any local restaurants and hotels for the weekend. 

Are confetti and noisemakers permitted?

Since the commencement ceremony will be held indoors at the Drayson Center, confetti and noisemakers of any kind are not permitted.

Flowers and Leis

Flowers and leis are welcome at our commencement ceremony. 

Guest Seating at Commencement

Commencement is a special event for both graduates and their friends and families. Seating is open and on a first-come, first-serve basis at the Drayson Center.

Accessibility and Assistance

Will the University provide a wheelchair or other form of transport to guests with mobility issues?

  • The University does not provide wheelchairs but ADA-designated parking areas and shuttles, prioritizing guests who require mobility assistance. To access ADA parking areas, guests must display their blue placards.
