Los Angeles Megaclinic April 27-29

Eleven students and several faculty from the School of Public Health joined over 4,000 volunteers for the three-day Pathway to Health clinic in Los Angeles on April 27-29, 2016. The lines for the clinic would start the night before, as people would bring their sleeping bags and blankets prepared to spend the night. By the time of opening at 7 a.m. each morning, thousands of patients would line up along the walls of the LA convention center waiting to receive care. Once the patients completed their dental, medical, or eye care visits they were guided to the lifestyle section of the clinic, to which the majority of the SPH faculty and students were assigned. This is where the patients received an individualized lifestyle consultation as well as had their body composition test done by Dr. Dos Santos and his students.
