FAQ

At the Drayson Center Office of Preventive Care you will learn from health professionals the secrets of a healthy and long life. Together we will develop a practical and personalized lifestyle guide just for you.

My doctor already tells me to eat better and exercise more. How is this program different?

One important difference is that we take the time to work with you. You can expect a comprehensive assessment of your lifestyle and your body composition. Your own environment, expectations and limitations will be key to facilitating an individualized and sustainable plan just for you. You will also benefit from the latest technology to inform and monitor your progress. We will be your health professional, your counselor and your cheerleader as you travel the road to well-being.

Just who are these health professionals? Are they personal trainers?

Yes, in one sense they are personal trainers, but they are much more. They are health professionals pursuing their master and doctoral degrees at the Loma Linda University School of Public Health. As such, they are specialists in weight management, diet counseling, exercise prescription and stress management.

The Office's director is Dr. Hildemar dos Santos, MD, DrPH. Dr. dos Santos is a professor of preventive care at Loma Linda University (LLU) and has years of international experience in helping his patients attain wellness.

How long is the program? What does it consist of? Do I need to part of Loma Linda University?

No, to participate in the preventive care program, you do not need to be part of Loma Linda University. What you do need is the desire to improve your quality of life. When was the last time you enjoyed walking with a friend or loved one, attending social occasions, going shopping, playing with your kids, grandkids or pets?
